Infraero and the environment: a relationship of respect

Infraero has as a premise to ensure compliance with rules and standards of environmental protection in the implementation, operation and expansion of its managed airports, aimed at minimizing and preventing environmental impacts that may be caused by its activities.

Infraero has an Environmental Policy which serves as guide for setting strategies and goals of the company to plan, build and operate its airport facilities in accordance with national and international environmental laws and regulations. To meet the guidelines established in accordance with environmental policy, organizational structures were established at company headquarters, the regional superintendents and at some airports.

The Superintendence of the Environment, located at the headquarters of Infraero, has the mission to plan, regulate and manage environmental programs nationwide, and monitor and support the actions of the Regional Superintendencies and airports in the management of these programs.

Infraero Environmental Management System

The Environmental Management System is based on three main lines of work, which guide the environmental programs and actions:
Compliance with legislation: the constant monitoring of procedures for the licensing of airports is one example of initiatives taken by the company to comply with environmental legislation.

Eco-efficiency: the search for eco-efficiency is achieved through actions aimed at the efficient use of natural resources, increasing productivity and reducing costs.

 Actions and environmental projects developed by the company seek to improve environmental performance in their activities.

Education and communication: Infraero develops actions to raise awareness about environmental issues to the public inside and outside the company. Environmental education campaigns in and out of airports are also organized.

Environmental Programs

The Infraero Environmental Policy is materialized into actions and projects included in the Environmental Programs established by the Superintendence for the Environment, being put into practice by the environment areas at the headquarters, regional Superintendencies and its airports
